Summary

Although the whole of French VII Corps were to hand only two Bavarian Divisions were engaged. The Austrians were a linking brigade between their III and V Corps. The Austrians mistakenly attacked the Bavarian /French formation and then hastily withdrew southeast in a shaken state.

Location

A village in south eastern Bavaria, Germany, just south of the river Danube [now Donau] about 19 miles east of Ingolstadt.
