Summary

In the complex politics of Spain the Frenc had some significant sympathizers. General Garcia Navarro, commander of the impregnable fortress port of Peniscola was one such. Because of his treachery this valuable harbour was lost to the Allied fleet. No lives were lost but all the Spaniards were captured.
