Summary
Troops of II Corps holding Schwaben Redoubt lost some of it to German counter-attack. Later they drove the Germans out. Other units attacked and took Stuff Trench. The Canadian Division took Regina Trench, held it against repeated counter-attacks [at least three], and began consolidating their position. 18th Div. to the left of the Canadians made similar gains. 25th Div. further to the left made good gains and could have gone further but were held by the British standing barrage set up to deter counter-attacks.
