Summary

The strong well stocked fortress of Küstrin was manned by a mix of garrison and stragglers. The Commandant, von Ingersleben, chose to surrender on the appearance of the small force of French infantry. Later he was court-martialled for cowardice.

A small town on the river Warta in eastern Prussia about 16 miles north of Frankfurt. (Poland)
