Summary
The Russians having advanced to the Emms river were now withdrawing eastwards. Their rear guard under Bagration was joined by about 2,000 Austrians. Napoleon's advanced troops were held for a day suffering only slight losses whereas the Austro-Russian losses were heavy. Overnight the Austro-Russians withdrew.
