Summary
Xlll Corps occupied Marlboro' Wood and established a position some 250 yds ahead of the British line. In six hours of hard fighting 19 Div. of lll Corps cleared the village of la Boiselle. X Corps 49th Div counter attacked Germans to the north of Thiepval but were unsuccessful.
