Summary
The Crusaders/Hungarians besieged Nicopolis. The Turks came to its relief. Numbers were approximately equal but the Turks were better organized and better disciplined. Chivalric pride prevented Sigismund from controlling the Christians and the desertion of Wallachian and Transylvanian contingents added to the debacle.
