Summary
A strong push was made all along the front by elements of all three corps of the Fourth Army and X Corps of the Reserve Army. During the day considerable gains were made but many gains were lost to counter-attack and artillery bombardment. At the end of the day most of Delville Wood had been consolidated as well as ground between Contalmaison and Pozieres.
