Battle Name : Fleurus

Date(s) : 26 June 1794

Part of : The French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars , French War of the First Coalition ,

Outcome : An inconclusive engagement between French Forces and Coalition Forces [Austro-Dutch]

Type of battle : Land

Although smaller in total number of troops the Coalition force had a seven to one advantage in cavalry. Some observers suggest that the Austrians had already decided to withdraw from their Netherlands province and the chance of a victory in this battle was thrown away so that they could withdraw eastwards.
