Summary
The Turkish garrison of Kars under Sir William Fenwick Williams repelled a determined Russian attack on Sept 29th, but was then beseiged by Gen. Muraviev and finally had to capitulate due to starvation before a relief force sent by Omar Pasha from Sevastopol could arrive.
