Summary

Initial sudden investment of the Liége Citadel by 50 squadrons and a similar action against Fort Chartreuse, on the 13th October. Trenches opened on the 20th and artillery opened action the next day. Late on the 23rd a practicable breach had been opened in the citadel which was successfully stormed. The Fort was subjected to heavy bombardment and the Governor surrendered on the 29th October.
