Poor intelligence on the Austrian side led them to believe the Franco-Italians had given up the line of the Mincio. The Franco-Italians were there in strength and the Austrians were met with determined resistance when they tried to cross.


A tributary of the river Po flowing in from the north [left hand bank] the action took place over a front of approximately 3 miles centred about 8 miles south of Peschiera, Italy. (Italy)
