Summary
The Russians under Gorchakov attacked with the intention of taking the Fediukine Heights as a base for further operations against allied supply lines and the seige lines. They were soundly repulsed by French and Sardinian troops with a few British Cavalry and artillery units involved.
This was the last Russian attempt to break the seige from outside the city.
